Quivira Council continues to grow in total youth. In 2006, we worked with the local Girl Scout council to conduct a Sign Up for Scouting membership campaign for the second consecutive year. Parents, leaders, school officials, and local media appreciate this initiative to provide a single night for boys and girls to join.
A 20-second public service announcement (PSA) we developed aired more than 300 times on

- NBC
- Cartoon Network
- USA Network
- ABC Family Channel
- Hallmark Channel
We also developed a cartoon-style billboard that was placed in 30 locations throughout our council. And Miss Teen Kansas, a Venturer, served as our honorary membership chairman for our Scouting sign up event as well as our Venturing First Nighter.
In 2007, Quivira Council is working hard to make this local collaboration a state-wide initiative with seven other Boy Scout and Girl Scout councils. For more information on this collaboration, please contact us at rreeve@bsamail.org.
