A local major bank hosted a press conference and media luncheon for the Choctaw Area Council, Meridian, MS to share our Council success story (40% increase in Traditional Membership) and announce the kick-off of our annual popcorn sale.

The luncheon was attended by both local TV networks, 9 radio station groups, the and five area newspapers, plus the bank's officers, our Council officers and a few Scouts.

A luncheon invitation [PDF] was created by the bank's marketing department. The bank picked up the total cost of this event which resulted in broad media exposure throughout our six county area. The media stories highlighted how to join Scouting, what Scouting does for young people, and promoted the popcorn sale.
