A key communications strategy in support of the new Strategic Plan is to create a positive environment for Scouting in America. One tactic is personalized sharing of good news stories about individuals living out the Scout Oath and Law. Therefore, we are pleased to present "The Value of Scouting."
In a time when too much of the news we receive focuses on exposing negatives about people, it is important for us to share the positive things that are happening through Scouting. Many of you are keenly aware of great Scouting stories, and have asked for assistance in sharing your good news with key audiences. We have listened.
"The Value of Scouting" photo essays have been developed to easily and effectively demonstrate the positive impact of Scouting. They are scheduled to be posted on www.scouting.org on March 15. Scout executives received an e-mail on February 8 providing the opportunity to distribute them first to their executive board, donors, volunteers, and community leaders. In fact, we suggest that the e-mail be customized by including a personal note about the impact of Scouting in the community.
If you have not seen these stories, please check with your Scout executive, or contact the Marketing & Communications Division.
Thank you for all that you do to share the value of Scouting in your communities.
