One of the key points of the national communications plan, developed in support of the National Strategic Plan, is to
create a positive environment for Scouting in America.
"The millions of Scouting alumni, friends, and families deserve to hear from us," said Rick Cronk, BSA president. "We must use every avenue available to reach them. Marketing in the BSA is not a function; it is everything we do!"
To help accomplish this goal, a series of photo essays telling the story of the heroic actions of Scouting youth and volunteers is available on the BSA Web site at scouting.org/media/value. "The Value of Scouting" photo essays feature lifesavers as well as everyday heroes who live the Scout Oath and Law and make a difference in the lives of youth.
Each quarter, new photo essays will be delivered in an e-mail to your bsamail account. The photo essays will be posted on the Web site about a month after you receive the e-mail. This delay provides you an opportunity to forward the photo essays to your district volunteers and families with a personal note detailing the impact of Scouting in your community.
The objective is to have these photo essays, via e-mail, reach all of our 1.2 million volunteers, potential leaders, and members of chartered organizations and organizations with whom the BSA has strategic alliances.
INFO Please visit scouting.org/media/value to view the first quarter's stories and watch your e-mail for future "The Value of Scouting" photo essays. Contact the Marketing & Communications Division if you are having difficulty opening or forwarding the e-mail.
